RSA Video

There are rising levels of CO2 – beach ball
This changes the climate – fresher pack exterior
Some places are getting hotter whilst some are getting cooler.
– Beer mat, poster
Sea levels will rise – Thermometer fridge magnet

WARNING – reduce carbon emissions now/ act quickly – maybe warming/warning perspective thing?

Look at how we live and then look to sensibly reduce carbon emissions. Community engagement. – Students leave stuff on.

Skills required...

Communication – A tone of voice students are not familiar with when looking at serious global issues.
Visualisation – The effects of climate change. Visualising CO2.
(To appeal to the target group) – everything is fun or ‘Cool’

Look at motivations and attitudes of the target group – I need to see results or the effects etc. – visual reminders.
Halls of residence – student community will be very easy to focus on.
– This is our focus.

Design outputs...

Documented – written, photos, film, multimedia
Broader appreciation – look at materials, are they reusable?
This is integral to our fresher pack and strategy.
Understanding the system (i.e. the student community for us) – the context of use is EXTREMELY important – in relation to the product.

A collaborative approach gains the most insight. – Might be able to incorporate our experience with co-creation here? I’ve got all the notes from Alicante with the various systems we used when collaborating.

Clear definition of the thought process – well researched – considers a number of options. – Previous ideas – website research etc.

Product design – look at the use of the product – how will it encourage behavioural change? Visual reminders – fun and engaging

Looking for BIG IDEAS and small ideas that have a BIG IMPACT.
